Whiskey Riot Festival Comes to Rochester This Weekend

Glasses of Whiskey-Looking for something to do this weekend? On Saturday, Sept. 15, you can check out the first Rochester Whiskey Riot Festival at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center! This event will feature more than 40 vendors offering 90 different varieties of whiskey for patrons to sample. In addition to well-known brands like Jack Daniel’s and Jameson, you’ll also be able to find products from a number of local distilleries. These include Buffalo’s own Tommyrotter Distillery, Honeyoye Falls Distillery and Black Button Distilling of Rochester.

Fans of Tommyrotter’s products will be able to sample the popular distillery’s Triple Barrel American Whiskey, which blends three aged whiskeys to create an eminently smooth spirit with notes of caramel and vanilla. Meanwhile, Honeyoye Falls Distillery will be showcasing its Empire-style rye whiskey at the festival as well. This rye whiskey is made from locally-sourced ingredients with 85 percent rye and 15 percent malted barley.

The Rochester edition of the Whiskey Riot Festival will run from 4 to 7 p.m. this Saturday. Be sure to buy your tickets in advance! You can still get tickets online, but tickets will not be available at the door. If you’re not able to make it to Rochester this weekend, you’ll have another chance to experience the Whiskey Riot Festival in just a few weeks. The festival will come to the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Buffalo on Saturday, Sept. 29.
